Default Extra step when making bowl cozies

Before I put the darts in I draw a circle with a dish on the bottom, in the center. Then I sew around from outer circle to the middle. This gives the bottom some definition.

What a great idea for definition to the bottom. I've made lots of these for gifts & for myself. I absolutely love them & we use them every single day of the year.

What an excellent idea! I hate when mine are all floppy and have no defined bottom.

What size square do you start with? How deep do you sew the darts and the width of the dart at the top/side of square?

Someone brought one to me and asked me to make some. It seemed different than I do them as to size.

This is such a great tip. I made mine and after they were done, I did not like the “poofieness” (is that a word?) in the bottom. I stitched a square in that area. It was awkward because the bowl shape was already there. I may make some more now using your method .
