I have been collecting fabrics to make a bed quilt. need advice on red/pink some say keep, others say no. also if you have a pattern u think would be complementary of these choices...?? i am a beginner, nothing fancy : ) yet.

it will depend a great deal on the pattern you plan to use.

i can picture it working very well as an accent.

Those are all pretty colors and I'd keep the pink/red in with them.

My suggestion would be to keep the red/pink. Great splash of color, especially in a D9P pattern.

Thanks. I was having trouble picking prints for a specific pattern so I thought I would pick a pattern for my prints? lol I actually have learned that the fabric choices speak to me also. I had a pattern or two that I was thinking of, but I am picturing something a little different now that I have them together. I was thinking of the Pinwheel Cove pattern I found in the July/Aug 2010 Quiltmaker magazine. Then I thought maybe I should try a pattern with some triangles. Can't stay in straight lines forever! LOL

TJ: Do a search on D9P here on the board. It means Disappearing Nine Patch. You will love the many styles this patch can make! It's one of my all-time favorites!
