I had my fabric room remodelled a couple of years ago but have decided what I thought was a good idea was not working for me. So yesterday I started demolishing some of it and am in the process of doing it a different way. The first picture is the finished product from the first remodel. The second picture is me in the middle of the current project. I am not handy with carpenter tools and stuff, but am giving it my best shot (with help from hubby!). My hope is to have it done next week sometime.

Having a second thought about mine too...especially my fabric stash. I have most of mine in plastic container drawers, but a real pain to see what you have without taking it all out. So I will probably be doing the same thing as you, but organizing mine on shelves or with the fabric boards as others have shown on this site.

Good Luck...you're making good progress.

I got 13" cubes to line up against the wall, with a pegboard on top. I have about a million rolly carts and 3-drawer plastic chests, which I will continue to use, but my yardage I wanted to be able to see.

Ambitious project, keep up the good work and keep us posted on how you're doing. I just moved a year ago from a 3-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom apt., so I'm still in the rearranging stage, especially with limited space. I have my fabric in clear plastic totes with labels, Christmas, fall, pinks, purples, etc. It works gret until I get ready to do a quilt and then I am my own worse enemy and have to rearrange again. Oh well, last time I did it, I found fabric I had been searching for and some fabric I had forgotten I had. Plus, when looking for a quilt top for my friend to quilt for a fund raiser for her daughter's friend with breast cancer, I found several unfinished tops. Guess I'd better get busy.
