Fabric selection for Amazon Star
#12
I assume this is paper pieced, it still will be a lot of cutting and sewing, but it will be worth it, stunning!!!!!!
Worked on this over the weekend while watching TV. I have the pattern for Amazon Star but want to change the color scheme, not thrilled with the original green as it looks muddy to me. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were some guidelines for colors like "4 fabrics, all similar color and texture, one of the fabrics could substitute for any of the 4".
I really like aqua/turquoise/blues and that looks nice with purple so....

I expect it's going to take a long time to make this. On a longarm message board one of the LA'ers posted that a customer wanted someone to make this quilt for them. Many people replied that they either wouldn't do it for someone else or that they'd charge like $3k for it.
