several years ago I saw a picture in one of my old quilting mag. that showed a family tree quilt. there was no pattern, only a photo. I decided to make one for myself, using the general idea. mine is different but some ways similar. It hangs on my dining room wall . It has a tree trunk with our family name and the branches are our 4 children and their children. Around the base of the tree are the family names that are in our history. around the edge are blocks that have real meaning such as Celtic star, and Northumberland star etc. the hearts on the tree are the names, and there are autograph blocks around that allow for the grandkids as they get married. A quilt in the making

Very nice - I love it. I wanted to make my parents a "Family Tree Quilt" for their 50th Wedding Anniversary and couldn't find anything I liked, but I had some ideas in my head. I designed my own "Family Apple Tree" The hearts are hte apples and the names are on the back of the apples. There are a couple extra apples for "additions" to the family.
