I finally decided to just start on this so that I could get it done. I procrastinated about it for three years. I would pull out the pictures that were printed and look at them and match several fabrics with them. I ended up with two and a very simple frame effect.

She doesn't have a lot of wall space, so I was trying to keep is small.I have never worked with pictures before and had a lot of fun and learned a lot as well.

The LQS that printed the pictures wasn't getting them right. I asked for all of them to be enlarged to 5x7 and done in sepia tones top two are sepia, rest are B&W. They kept printing them wrong and still charged me for each as they didn't have the instructions written down. I explained each time I dropped them off what I needed and they said they would write it down. Apparently they didn't. I was dealing with the store owner on this and got nowhere. One of the complaints I had was that they left me no seam allowance....they said I didn't request it....it's a quilt shop.....do they not know you have to leave a seam allowance...
Anyway, I didn't post this to bash the shop, just wanted to let everyone know when they get pictures printed...be very specific and write the instructions yourself.

The picture is my grandpa, grandma, the middle one is of my brother, me, and my sister ( the glass was cracked on the original picture and stuck to it so I scanned it that way as it is the only one we have of us together). The bottom ones are of my uncle and my mom. It is all my mom's immediate family. She and dad divorced when I was very young, so I just wanted the immediate "blood" relatives in it.

Great quilt. Glad you stopped procrastinating. I planned to make one for my parents for years. Then we lost my mom and it was too late. So good for you!
