Cute top! I would do a piano key border with all the fabric used in the quilt.

Love that quilt...and your helper must be a really good guy! Oh, right, the border question...hmmm...it's a baby quilt, so not black...how about a scrappy border using the same strips as you've done around the 'windows?' Or one of the darker colors already in the quilt?
