    Default Faux Diamonds Scrap Pattern

I just liked the video, so I amassed 5" squares for the first time ever. Boy, did I. Enough for another one all in blues, in process, of course. And, I have folded some into prairie points for a future use. And, well, let's just say I went overboard.
This quilt has not been washed yet. I took the pic so that I could see the fishies in the border. I used navy thread, but not sure how well it will be seen.
I did have an "I don't care" moment when I realized that my first attempt at using pool noodles to sandwich yielded a small fold at one edge of backing. Quilted over without fixing! But learned to check that next time!

That is really a cool pattern. I love the little fish on the border. You said the beach is your happy place. The quilt reminds me of ripples on the water. Lots of action. Great job.

What a coincidence! I'm making that same pattern, and was thinking about stopping at 6x6 blocks and adding a border, just like you did!

    Yours came out great.

Great minds think alike. I just planned to show this pattern to my sewing Bee at the next meeting. I made them till I ran out of two five inch squares in my random pile of scraps. Love your wide blue border, it really pulls the pattern together.

I've never seen this pattern before....looks like several other Board members have seen it and wanting to make it also. The border fish makes it really interesting to me.

I made it too. My blocks weren't all the same size so I sewed two blocks together and then cut one big block. I added sashing to make it bigger.

Great finish. Love your fish in the borders. The pattern reminds me of looking through Venitian blinds.
