Favorite Fabric Shops in Dubai, UAE

Fabric at these shops is about 15 Dirhams/yd. Love, love, love it! Will certainly miss the fabric prices from this side of the world!

    At today's rate ... $4.08/yard US.

    OMG!!!
May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

Here I was, whenever I saw your posts, thinking that it must be awfully hard to find quilting fabric in Saudi, but wow! Bright and colorful! Do the shops sell mainly to quilters, or for clothing?

It can be kind of hard to find shops here that sell 100% cotton. However, once one quilter finds a shop with cottons, the word is spread quickly and all of us invade the shops! (They love to see us coming!!! lol) But the shops that have the cottons, yes, it is mainly the quilters that buy it. It is not at all uncommon to buy an entire roll. My rule of thumb is to buy 4 meters at a time! Unless I really like it....then i double that!

Maybe one day I will post a pic of my 'little' fabric stash!

Wonderful fabrics!! It would not be a good idea for me to visit that shop -- fabric diet and all that.
