Default Favorite Things - Embroidery

I just finished this quilt for my daughter's birthday on April 16th. I embroidered the center blocks using images I found on the net and that dissolvable stabilizer. Then I framed them in fabrics of her favorite colors. The edge was a scallop of those same colors. I did stitch in the ditch and fmq around the embroidery work. I started this in January, first time doing embroidery work in years. The batting is bamboo. I think she will enjoy it as a summer quilt. The picture was taken in the house with just light from a skylight and it was a cloudy day. Colors are brighter than they may appear here. Thanks for looking, this is my first picture post.

WOW. You can tell a lot of work went into that quilt. Is the border PP'd, the points are so sharp. You did a great job. Tell her Happy Birthday for us. BrendaK

The borders were cut using two templates, one triangular and the other had a bit of a curve, I likened it to an ice cream cone. It was in a book I had that dealt strictly with borders. I have used it twice, for this and one with prairie points. Thanks for asking.
