    Very nice! I would add the scallop. I’m looking forward to the day that my feathers will be as pretty as yours.

    And to think ... you almost didn't continue with the feathers. Absolutely beautiful. I like the scallop idea.

    I wouldn't trim it off and make it smaller, I'd just echo it once or twice with the scallop as you envisioned. It doesn't need to go all the way to the binding. I would try to leave the same amount of space as there is on the other side of the feathers. In the corners there's more room, so you may have to add something else there, maybe some more feathers.
