    Thanks for all your supportive comments. The block is 30x30. The sub units are all 6" finished. The boarder is 5". I started with the aqua focus fabric, went to my stash and found the dark blue plaid like the pattern in the blue fish. The next stash find was the orange fabric to accent the crabs it also had tiny swirls repetitive of a design element in the focus fabric. The choices were really serendipitous. I am not always that lucky. I pieced the block in a day 6 or 7 years ago, layered and pin basted it with the help of friend. I had never done machine quilting, so I simply put it on the shelf until I got the KITB with the UFO challenge. Had enough fabric to piece a second top.
