    Default Ribbons and Stars

I just finished 2 of these, this one in the blues and the bright yellow and one with smaller borders, in and very deep mauve and dark spinach green with very pale yellow stars, which I am not as fond of....that one was kinda a learning project...LOL. I don't know if any of you have those sitting around, regardless they are both pretty and someone will have a warm home to put them in.

I need to get them quilted...any ideas or suggestions would help. I was hoping to put one on the longarm later in the week...but my Quilt Whispering senses are not working as it is too cold up here....lol.....and this quilt is NOT talking to me......is it talking to any of you out there....LOL.

Very pretty. I love blues and yellows together and the combination made for a striking look in your quilt. Great job.

Oh I just love the friendship star. That is really cool with the intertwined ribbons. And the dark blue really sets it off nicely. Peggy

The first thing I thought of, are the colors of the Swedish flag. I come from a large Swedish family and my son, who lives in Minnesota, sent us strings of small paper Swedish flags, for the Christmas tree. Just took the tree down last weekend.
I also love blue and yellow together, especially in quilts. I think the quilt shown was really speaking to me.

Looks real good. And it will be terrific when it's quilted.

I'd probably avoid feathers. It has a masculine feel to me that I wouldn't want to feminize with feathers..

I would probably quilt a swirl (like a cinnabon) on the center of each star, and also on the pale blue. I'd quilt a ribbon curl on the points of the stars. I'd either do a bunch of straight diagonal lines on the dark blue to accentuate the area but really quilt them down. And dense quilting on the dark blue will make the stars pop up. I'd do C curls on the inner blue borders, stitch in the ditch on the middle border, and I'd quilt beadboard or piano keys on the outer border.

That's my 2 cents. I can't wait to see what you do with it! HAVE FUN!!!
