I just found this thread. I have not been online in a very long time. But I made a fidget quilt because a really good blogger shared her quilts and I knew I wanted to make one for a friend. I still do not have it finished but the site where all of the patterns or ideas are is this:
http://www.with-heart-and-hands.com/...lzheimers.html
Michele has one of my favorite blogs so I share her free ideas because of her generoisty to me. she make Fidget quilts for Alzheimers, Dementia and for people with autism. I think this is a lovely idea so I am happy to see more people making them.

This is dear to my heart too. Thanks for the idea. I will make a few and see if the facility where my mom lives would like them and more.

WOW that's cool. wouldn't have thought about using ribbon, a towel or even buttons for that matter. I would like to try that in one of my small quilts. Great idea.

That is so touching! Your mother truly was quilting -- her hands had MEMORY!

Every year our guild has a small service project...this year we are sewing the pillow cases for the local QOV program...I think the fidget quilts would be an excellent idea....

Interesting idea - and bless you for carrying it out. Reminds me of the "busy books" we used to make/buy for toddlers to entertain them in church or other "waiting" moments.

Default Sewing Project

Our sewing circle had fun making fidget table toppers, fidget aprons, and blankets. They really to get a kick out of making them. It will be delightful to be able to share them with the local nursing homes.
