I like it - sometimes I think the "simpler" quilts are just as striking - and certainly just as warm - as some of the very "intricate/complicated" quilts.

    And you finished it!!!! Congratulations!

You did a great job. Hopefully you will just take a break and start another after the holidays.

You're on a roll so don't put that machine away!! This is a beautiful quilt. There is something to be said for simplicity.

    Sprocket ... Mes Felicitations!
Enjoy your quilt!! and be proud of your accomplishment.
I love the tonal mix of fabrics. Your work is well done with the seams matching incredibly well.

Don't let your friends discourage you. Sounds like you stretched beyond their normal expectations for you. Maybe there is some jealousy amidst their laughter, that you did what they cannot or will not try? So good for you!!

Allow yourself a bit of a break ... then yes, after Christmas, quilt #2 is yours to make!
    Bonne Chance!

Your quilt is beautiful. Just keep making quilts and before you know it every one of them will look better.
No one ever made anything without mistakes the first time. I gave up trying for perfection. I just try to be accurate on cutting, sewing and pressing. I have made about 3 or 4 hundred quilts and not a perfect one in the bunch. They are still pretty and warm. Practice, practice, practice.

Sprocket, that is a sophisticated, modern looking quilt in your black and white fabrics. Simple squares are very appealing, and many accomplished quilters still make them for their homeyness.

Please don't stop now. You did so well for a first time quilter. Take a break and then make another. You will be more
relaxed because you have learned on the first one.

There was a time I would have answered you in French, but 'pas maintenant"! Mon francais est tres mal parce que j'ai 54 ans . Quand en universite (1983-87) c'est fraise, mais longtemps le sans, je parle un peu et drole, oui?

Thank you again everyone for the kind comment.

I may have mention mistakes but I'm happy with it even so.
I leave some mistake in as a reminder for next time to slow down, plan, and apply my general rule "If you ever say that's good enough, it's time to stop for the day because tomorrow you wont be happy with good enough"

I do have my eye on one more project now since I decide this one is going to the maple camp.
But there is no pattern so... Time for some work in autocad.
My wife laugh an says this is turning into a monster. haha

Love your quilt and the black and white blocks together are very striking. May I use your inspiration as a guide to using up some of my own black and white fabrics. Please do not give up quilting, you are very good at it. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us.
