You know what a good quilting project is just to keep sharp and practice new ideas? Quilts for NICUs and children’s hospitals. They aren’t big...NICUs want them no bigger than 36x36. I switched to do doing that because I’ve made enough big quilts and we now live in a condo with less bedrooms. I love working with colorful panels and fabrics and it makes families and children very happy. Yours is lovely by the way!

Your quilt is lovely!! So happy you pushed on and completed it. So many get discouraged and never finish what they started. Who knows when you might be inspired to create another?

Love the black and white. You have inspired me to make a black/white quilt.

    Félicitations! Très beau travail!

I sure hope you don't store that sewing machine too far away ... I can see though that you have many other hobbies.

It's an excellent first project! Come back to the board or quilting whenever you are ready.

There are CAD like programs specifically for quilting, many of us use Electric Quilt. Sometimes I can satisfy that day's desire to quilt by playing with the program instead, it makes it easy to determine finished sizes, pieces, easily switch colors or find out the many "what ifs" we are confronted with.

I agree that jealousy might sort of tinge their comments. Keep quilting and let no one keep you down!
