Finally finished my curtains (Garden Twist)
#129
Thank you every one. I designed the valance myself. I wanted to use the garden twist without using the whole pattern. I figured there had to be a way to make diamonds going across. After I finished piecing the valance then I debated with myself about colors for the rest of the valance. I looked at the green tones and the flowered fabric and decided it took away from the valance. So I settled on the white on white. Then I debated about the color of the curtains themselves and talked to many people and we all decided white on white was the best. After I put them up I realized it needed a ruffle to bring it all together. The room was painted in the pink shades years ago when I had a manly burgundy bedspread. The border paper matched the bedspread almost to a T. Now it all works together and I didn't have to paint. Hooray :)

To answer a few questions about the valance. I used paper and cut it to the finished sizes. Then I kept playing with paper until I figured out the cutting dimensions. The first row is 2 triangles. The second row is a triangle, green square with flower center, flowered square and then a white triangle. Row 3 white triangle, flowered square, green square with flower center, flowered square and white triangle. Keep repeating row three until you reach your desired length then do rows 2 and 1.
