Congratulation on this beautiful and useful quilt. I too would be doing a quilt dance.

Oh gosh, I didn't mean to mislead anyone. This is my 6th quilt in total but my first bed sized one (and my last bed sized one for awhile! lol). The other ones I've made were about 2ft x 3ft to smaller than throw size.

Love the quilt! It looks complicated with the dark lines. Are they on top of the other strips?

I cut off the ends of the strips to make a horizontal rectangle in the middle, then sewed on the black strips. Then sewed the strip ends, and the vertical strips, to the black strips and sewed the strip ends down to the vertical strips so they wouldn't flap around.

What an impressive "first" quilt. My goodness, I can only imagine what quilt Number 5 will look like. Congratulations on an excellent beginning to your journey into quilting..

Is there any batting in your summer quilt? I need to make one of those and then I wouldn't find the quilt on the floor every morning as someone got too warm during the night. Very nice.

I used muslin in place of batting. It made it much easier to sew and it lightweight for summer.
