Beautiful quilt! Just do cross hatching, either horizontal & vertical or diagonal. Don't need to be really dense, like 2 " apart. Just make sure the lines go all the way across the quilt, like they go in back of the appliques straight across.

You did a nice job on your applique flower with stem and leaves. If you want to fill in the background fabric, how about doing a curving applique stem/leaves/flowers throughout the background? Great top!

Nice job. Its a beautiful sampler. What about some appropriately spaced straight line quilting. It would give a modern feel to the traditional quilt. Or if you prefer traditional quilting, you could do stitch-in-the-ditch with a cross hatch pattern in the open spaces. My personal feeling is a finished quilt is a great feeling of accomplishment. Perfect or not. I am sure you will get some great suggestions on quilting. Or may you can send it out to a long arm quilter to quilt? Either way I love your quilt top!

So happy you finished the top. It's beautiful! If you have a local quilt shop maybe take it there and they can give you some quilting ideas. I always struggle with how to quilt them too but have gotten great suggestions from the ladies and gentlemen here. Can't wait to see what you decide to do.
