Wow seems inadequate... but it's all I can think of.
I LOVE how you chose colurs and fabrics that mimic light play.
I love those tone on tone colours where it seems like looking thorugh
coloured smoke - I am sure there is some fancy technicall name for
that but they are perfect in this quilt as they mimic the feeling of light
filtering though coloured glass which always changes and has light and
dark spots..

He had seen another quilt that I had done and asked me if I would make one for him. We picked out the pattern and fabrics together and to be honest I was a bit nervous when we had just the fabric laid side by side but after I got them sewn together with the "leading" I was amazed with how it had a glow, kinda like the sun shining through a stained glass window. He wanted it to be very heavy, like the old time quilts. I used cotton batting (which is very linty on black fabric). I stitched in the ditch and on the solid black I used the outline of the pieced blocks to mimic the quilting on the pieces blocks.
