I have been working on this darn quilt - or at least trying to get ready to work on it, by trying to come up with a design I could be happy with - for almost a year now. It is (theoretically, at least) a T-shirt quitl. Part of the problem is that she only had 2 shirts. How do you make a QUILT with only 2 shirts?!? Well, a couple of months ago, I got the idea to use stars, and found the fabrics. The design itself came in starts and stops, a little at a time: first, I found the star pattern and created the inner part of the blocks. In stages, the other layers, shapes, etc. came to me, until ..... (drumroll please!) ..... It is finally finished!!

I can only hope that the client will be THRILLED with it! The price in our negotiations was left quite open, so I am hoping I will be able to get the cost of my fabrics plus a LITTLE for my time. Anyway, please tell me HONESTLY what you think of this latest "masterpiece".

btw.... did I mention it turned itself into a MONSTER??? This quilt most certainly seemed to develop a mind of it's own as it was created. It told me, a little at a time, what it was to become. Final block size : 37" 3 blocks square. MUCH bigger than I ever planned to make it!

The colors and fabric you pick is great. Very trekky. Your quilt is wonderful. I see no reason why your client isn't going to love it. :D

It's beautiful----I'd pay a lot for it. I'm a ST fan too---my favorite being the original ST. I like the design and the colors. If she's a ST fan, she'll love it!!!

That is AWESOME! I love it when a quilt turns into something wonderful on its own. Great job!

it is really great - I LOVE the way your colors actually make me feel like I am in outer space (which I should know about, since my kids claim that I am out there all the time!).

    WELL DONE!!!!!

Thank you, everyone, for your wonderful comments!!!! Aside from the fact that I really can't afford to take the loss on the fabric, it would not break my heart to keep this project. As nice as it is to receive money for my work, it is still a bit like one of my "babies" is leaving home!

Thanks again for all the terrific support!!!!

I like it. Star Trek - TNG (The Next Generation) was one of my favorite shows. Even though some of the ladies pictured are from other Star Trek series.

If she doesn't love it, I'll bet you could sell it somewhere else for a FORTUNE! Beautiful quilt--you're so creative!
