Finished another one. (Date on the pic is wrong - camera has a mind of it's own!) I just finished this one yesterday. Wasn't as easy to piece as I thought it would be. Whew! I hand quilted this one, too, because I am still afraid to try machine quilting again.

I love your quilt. And the hand quilting is awesome too! I know how you feel...I can make a quilt top and am pretty happy with my work, but I'm scared to death to try to quilt anything on my machine. I am a beginner and trying to learn on my own. I wish I had somebody to sit down with me and my machine and give me some hands on training! I am a visual learner!

I have hand quilted for many years and just don't know if I would enjoy machine quilting as much. I would rather hand quilt in the living room in the company of my husband rather than be working over the machine back in my sewing room. (My picture doesn't really show very well the quilting on the white.)

Get you some fabric with fruits on it. Start with oranges...and make you some little quilt sandwiches out of it and go slowly around each orange until you feel you have control. You have to find your "control rhythm" When you get comfortable with that go to something smaller like cherries. Remember to slow your machine down and remember to STOP and take your foot off the petal when you need to decide where to go next...but try and train yourself to think ahead and look ahead of the needle.

What a beautiful quilt. I love the scrappy look and the white makes those pretty colors pop. Great job and thanks for sharing.

Ah - the scrap pile - made into something beautiful! I know what you mean about being afraid of machine quilting. Only small projects for me. The big ones sit on my lap and keep me warm as I get 'er done.

Great advice! I'll give it a try as soon as I figure out which foot I am suppose to use and how to drop the feed dogs on my machine! Thanks!
