Finished! Do you ever wonder if you should quit and just buy a blankie?

This one had is ups and downs. If only I hadn't told the recipient that I was making it! In the end, I think everything turned out okay enough to give to baby Eva without feeling too embarrassed. I definitely learned a few things while working on it-
1. When my machine's screen says "Stop for safety purposes" it's time I take a break!
2. When using thin, see-through fabric, don't fold it double for the binding. It causes lesson #1!
3. When using high loft batting, the quilting line will get a wiggle every time I stop, even with the needle down.
4. When the quilt is all done and washed, the wiggles from #3 won't show too bad. ;)
5. The quilt binding set for my Janome machine works pretty well, but it won't finish the end for me. I still need to figure that out.
6. I can't "eyeball" anything! Not even sewing the bind strips together!

I have been quilting for 10 years, longarm quilting for the public for 7 of those years...and EVERYTIME I make a quilt or quilt a quilt, I learn something new. I guess when the time comes that I don't learn something new, it will be time to stop.
Your quilt is beautiful and the most important ingredient in it, is stated on the label. LOVE! Quilts are such a labor of love, aren't they?

Amen to the learning something with every project comment!
Thanks for your lessons-I'll try to learn from you without having to experience the problems personally! That's why I love this board!

It's adorable and no one but you will know all the difficulties you had. But your situation is exactly the reason I don't promise anything handmade to anyone. If it gets done, great, if not, there is no expectation and less stress on me.
