Hi Jan! I usually have to play around with the tention on the top of the machine. Before I start FMQ. It takes some time, but it's worth it. Don't give up!! :D It usually takes me a few practice sessions to get it right. Also make sure that you bobbin is wound evenly. If it's loose it will start knotting up on the bottom. Hope this helps.
