How pretty! I really like the pattern you chose. There are loads of secondary designs depending on how you look at it. Can you share what the block is? Thanks.

Thank you for your comment. My original idea was to make all the squares pinwheels but as I started to lay the pinwheels together it looked boring. Since I had already sewn HSQ triangles I flipped some of them to make a diamond in a square and then laid them out by color and shape and landed on the finished pattern. I didn't notice all the secondary designs until I got it finished. I'm sure there is a name for the pattern but I stumbled upon it by accident. LOL Should note that I kept enough material for myself so I can have a table runner using the same blocks.

Kauai has several WONDERFUL quilt shops and the one in Kapa'a will rent out a sewing machine for your vacation. So no need to bring it along. And yes, sitting in the evenings sewing in paradise is a perfectly acceptable thing to do in Hawaii!

Your quilt is beautiful. I love the Hawaiian fabrics, such great colors and you choose a perfect pattern to show them off
