Default finished ! Lady bugs with satin binding on back

Finished ! I am dancing ! My friend wanted a satin binding. Solved that by putting the satin blanket binding on back of quilt right behind and showing after normal quilt binding !

Still dancing ! The package was recieved in the mail yesterday ! All squared up, the photo is shows my hanging quilt on my tea cup holder... so quilt is hanging awkward.

I have posted before.. WIP, from a child's drawing.

Default solved problem when asked to use satin binding..

I often get asked: could you use satin for the binding my daughter, son love that satin feel. The satin blanket binding doesn't really go with many quilts. So.. I stitched the two edges of the store bought blanket silky binding so fold is toward middle of quilt. stitched it around the quilt top/ on back then added my normal quilt binding.. hand stitched the silky binding to the finished quilt.. yeah ! please the mom and .. did not detract from the quilt ! Just sharing my tip ! who hoo !

Very pretty. We must have similar taste in fabrics, I have all of those light blues and the green with the daisies!

You did a great job. Satin binding is not for a quilt and won't hold up. She wanted it and you did. Her problem not yours.

how neat. I tried once to add the silky binding and I had such a hard time with it. That was many years ago and I've learned alot since then. The way you showed would be the way I would have to do it. Thanks for sharing!!!
