Finished quilt for a dear friend

The surprise quilt is now ready to be shipped to a very good friend. (She doesn't quilt so won't see this.) It is called "By the Seashore" but instead of 16" blocks, I used 12" paper-pieced blocks from Quilters' Cache. I quilted it using SITD and large, off-centered circles on my DM. It was fun to both make and quilt.Name: IMG_0009 (2).JPG

put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

Hi, Hudgoddess. I cut out circles from paper, being sure to mark the centre. I then pinned them to the quilt, one at a time using the smallest one first. When I got to the fairly large circles, I only cut quarter circles and moved them when I completed the quilting around the first quarter.

Hi, Trapunta, The quilt is actually a combination of storm at sea and ocean waves. The original pattern was designed by Holly Daniels, but 16" blocks were too big for my purpose so I scaled them down to 12".
