I like your colors and design. Sometimes, it's fun to step outside of the conventional box. You did a great job! I hope this is the first of many adventures for you :-)

I've seen the Gees Bend quilts on display in Washington D.C. and I think you've done an admirable job of capturing the spirit of those quilts.

I had a hard time deciding on the backing. Orignially I wanted to do some sort of black and white print, but I didn't really see anything I liked. The quilt shop here didn't have anything black and white, and walmart had a few but I didn't really like any of them. So I ended up going with a green and white pattern. The background is white (well kind of an off-white) with a green vine design throughout. I'll have to post a picture of it, but I'm getting ready to head to work right now.

I love your design. I am going to attempt a Gees Bend style quilt, but have not had the pleasure of seeing them "live" Thanks for the inspiration.

I have read about the Gees Bend quilts and enjoyed their story, I like your quilt, well done, I am a scrap quilt lover over all others!
