    Your friend is going to love this! I like the backing too. Let us know her reaction.

    Binding can be tricky. However, when it is used no one will notice.

    I have a similar fabric to the light batik with purple circles.

    I try to see a picture in every quilt and this one definitely tells me one. I see the plumy shades of the rich dark grapes, the earthy tones of the fields and corks as well as the clear blue skies overhead. The quilting compliments the design.

    I always use my walking foot when doing the binding.

    Thanks for the link to the pattern. I think this would look good in scraps, and I have lots of 2.5 inch strips.
