Holy cow! That is great! Lots of little pieces - can't wait to see it finished.

Oh, my goodness you guys are so sweet and awesome! Thanks so much for the kind words! I'm totally in love with this quilt, and as my hubby says, it's extra awesome because I made it from my own head!

I was sick with the killer plague-flu that is knocking people down all over the place, so I only just got finished the main part of the top this weekend.

I'm working on a piano-key border in the blues and purples, then I'll add a skinny red border and a wide purpley batik for the outside border.

Once my tie-dye guy can do the back for me (sometime in April or May) then my mom will be able to get quilting! She has an interesting flame design that she wants to use for the quilting pattern.

Can't wait until it's done!!!

Oh, and if anyone wants to tackle this design themselves, I by no means have anything against that! (I mean, the Firedancer herself is copyrighted by the band, not me!) I just went through making each nine-patch block, block by block, from my Excel file (image on the first post), cutting and piecing as I went. Time consuming, yes. Easy.... not so much!

Oh, and you might not notice from the photo, but I have the happy accident of doing the Amish quilting thing of having a mistake in there. There is a little pinky-purple piece mixed in with the yellows and reds of the Firedancer herself. It turns out it's pretty much exactly where her heart would be, so I left it! <3
