Default First EQ7 Quilt

This is the very first quilt I designed completely in EQ7 and then actually made straight from my design. I wish EQ7 could translate my design into step-by-step instructions! Maybe version 8 will be able to read my mind.

I've been collecting yellow & black fabrics for quite a while, and now it's such a popular color combo, I decided it was time to make one, although I softened the black to grey and used black just for the accent. I also wanted to incorporate the oh-so-trendy chevron pattern without doing just rows and rows of zig-zags. I love medallion quilts so I decided chevrons around the borders would be just the thing. I tried some new "fill" motifs with the quilting in the center. All in all it was a great learning experience, and I really like the quilt. It is 41" square, just the right size for a table topper or a baby quilt.

thanks for looking

Congratulations on your first. I designed a block last night, hit the wrong button and erased it before I got into sketchbook. Yours gives me hope that one day......
