Default First ever King quilt

A few quick little shots of my newly finished King size quilt.

This is destined as a Christmas present to my mom from the whole family (who pitched in for the fabrics).

There are 420 HST in this quilt, along with 66 regular 6" squares where the 7 dresden flowers sit.

I embroidered a bunch of butterflies, dragonflies and a couple of owls to represent my sister, my dad and I (as these are our animal representations as my mom thinks of us), then I just did a whole bunch of loopy meandering over the rest of the quilt.

Enjoy!

This king quilt really dwarfs my tiny queen size bed....

Congratulations! A king? Oh my goodness that's quite the accomplishment and it looks wonderful. I'm sure your mother will greatly appreciate all of your hard work It's such a happy quilt - like a big ray of sunshine!

Added: And I love the embroidery idea/meaning too!

A beautiful Christmas gift for your mom from all of you. She will absolutely love it & think of you all each time she sees & uses it. You better add a box of tissues in with the gift as she will probably cry tears of joy when she opens it up.
