how funny! I want to live there too The book I used was called "Replique". I also used messy style applique. you can take any picture you love or that means something special to you. Trace the details you want, than you sew on the picture right on the paper. the paper will eventually tear away. My feed dogs were down most of the time. The thread for the sky was sulky, and was sparkly. I forgot the name of it, but I love it and used it also in the water I believe. I got that idea from a quilt show. That is what I do. I get stuck (cause I really don't know what I am doing), than google ideas, or look at pictures, than move on.

I am already loving this forum and just hope my family gets dinner tonight. haha! great meeting all of you fellow quilters.

Very beautiful and you say it is the first one - wow. This is gorgeous and well done. Thank you for sharing.
Desiderata (Max Ehrmann) - Walk placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
