First quilt in almost 10 yrs!

Wow, thanks everyone! Y'all sure know how to make a girl feel good, I appreciate the encouragement very much. (:
Yes, in the pattern it's bound with the same fabric as the strips- the copper/rust batik here. That may work for me, but I don't know yet, the blocks do look unfinished to me without border on the sides. I'm not used to that. I might pin some on and eyeball it when I walk by for awhile, see if I can live with it, hahah.
That's funny, I was thinking along the same lines, quilting in maybe a leaves and swirl pattern, so it looks like blowing leaves- I think I saw a stencil at the craft store like that, I'll have to go back and see if it's still there. I wouldn't have thought of doing it in a color, though- that's a good idea! Thanks!
I did some poking around online and finally found the thread I used to quilt with- all I could remember is that it was expensive and came on a little wooden spool- and sure enough, it's YLI!
Thanks again for all the encouragement, advice and kudos! <3 I will post an update when I get it finished.

I'm glad you are back to quilting. I really like your quilt and its very modern look. I know it is the new modern look-quilt sans borders-but it looks great. I think a border might be distracting from the project. I really like the effect of all those yellows together. Hope you get to the next project soon.
