Default First quilt art piece

This is my first quilt art project. How would you quilt this piece?
The bottom is watercolor pencils and glitter on dark blue cotton. The appliquéd moon has oil paint
to give a blue moon look. I am going to quilt the appliquéd bird to give a more feathered look just
can't figure out how to quilt the background. I hope the picture shows in the dark places.
Thanks for any help you can give. Mia<object type="cosymantecnisbfw" cotype="cs" id="SILOBFWOBJECTID" style="width: 0px; height: 0px; display: block;"></object>

I've never done an art quilt so I don't think I'll be much help. Maybe quilt small stars in the sky area with dark thread to match you fabric. What about doing some thread painting in some areas, like the trees ... if you don't think the glitter will get into your machine. You did a lovely job.

I would do puffs of clouds in the sky with matching thread. Then stitch the outline of the bird and a few accent lines of feathers with a matching thread. Outline the trees and the cabin and the sliding of the mountainside with background matching thread. I always keep it minimal. Very beautiful quilt.

I just want to say it's beautiful. I am not sure about the quilting part since I'm more of a "straight liner"

Mia, your art quilt is gorgeous. What a great start. Can't wait to see what you end up doing. Several of the suggestions would be good to use.

Hmm, maybe be daring and try glow in the dark thread on the bird for the feather details?
