My first quilt was made in a week for my lovely golden retriever called skye. who needed a new bed for inside the house, so i thought i would get to know my new sewing machine at the same time as making this to see if i would get into quilting.

Since making this I am now having lessons. This quilt was done without any help ( as you all can see) lol. It has double blanket thickness in the middle.
As i didn't know much about how to construct a quilt or colours etc. my friends kindly said it was good for a first try. lol.

well i brought $250 worth of fabric, so i had better love it. lol. oh i knew i would love it after my first lesson and learnt a few more rules. I can sew clothes but quilting is a new thing.
I will love it when i understand it more and get into the more intricate designs.

bye for now
jane

I think you did a great job!! I really like the zig-sag stitching on the top. Skye seems to like it, too! I need to do a "summer" mat for my dogs.
