Way back when I was a little boy, I remember sitting at the feet of my Meemaw (Grandma), and Great Aunts "helping" them while they made quilts. I loved playing with the fabrics, and wanted to sit behind the sewing machine so badly! However, my job was to cut apart the pieces that were being chain stitched. Those were some of the happiest days of my life spending time with them in their sewing rooms. Never did I think one day I would actually have a sewing room of my own. One in which I would be making quilts! Well, it happened this year! I used my grandmother's old Spartan sewing machine and made Christmas gifts for my family this year. I will share other pics when the quilts come back from the quilter. This quilt is going to my wonderful parents. Shhhh.....don't tell them! They have no clue! This was made using an "Origins" layer cake and charm pack, along with some additional yardage for borders. I used this tutorial! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxC-0...&feature=feedf
