First try at McTavishing....not so good!

You are being too hard on yourself - it looks beautiful!

First of all I think it is beautiful! Both the quilt and the quilting! We are our worst enemies.... my friend once share this advice with me ....."if you were ridding a horse past your quilt would you notice what you may feel is an imperfection? If not then let it go!"

I think you did wonderfly well. I do McT quite a bit on my quilts, it's a blessing for backround quilting an the only problem with it is that I have to struggle to leave enough open space when using it on quilts so I don't get that board effect. Just keep doing it, soon it will be your favorite.

I think it looks fabulous. Why is it, that as quilters we can't seem to find the beauty in our own work??? I had the very same feeling on my first attempt at McTavishing, and everyone else loved it! Your on your way to a great quilting career, and don't doubt it one bit!

I'm not sure what you think is wrong, it looks great to me. But I understand the feeling, so just keep practicing. You did say it's your first, right? So be confident you'll do better next time. And if you can't beat to look at this one, it's welcome here anytime!
OH! Dee! I just saw that you're in Syracuse! That's where home is for me, I'll be up there in November. Who knows, maybe I'll run into you at a quilt shop somewhere.
