I am looking forward to seeing your finished quilt - love the panel. Suggestion: since it already has black and light brown `borders` I think a narrow border (or even piping) of the dark blue followed by whatever arrangement of the lilac and water (in various widths) and then possibly a wider dark blue to finish and bind. I am sure it will look good whatever you decide.

Borders added to the fish panel. Now the next step is to do the qulting. Thought about outlining the fishes and maybe applique a turtle in each of the bottom corners.

Turned out great. Just adding all the colored borders suited this panel well. A fab finish!

Here are pictures of the Fish Panel. I stitched around the fishes and along the seam line. Have not put the binding on yet, because I forgot my co-workers' husband first name. Shame on me.

I have this same panel, was wondering what to do with it. Thanks for the ideas.
