Oh my it looks so complicated and is so pretty. I am no good at changing or adding to a pattern. You did a wonderful job.

WOW! That is so complicated - I think that is way out of my comfort range! Good luck!

I have taken a break, that was a lot of sewing and I needed to just get away from it. I haven't lost interest and I won't start a new project until this one is done. There is still so much do, about as much as I have done so far.

I have finished the eight square pineapple blocks and sewed in six of them, three at the top and three at the bottom. I just pinned the two side ones as I can still want to work with half a quilt as much as I can.

I now have the choice to make another eight P A diamonds or just put plain ones in between the squares. I swear, this is a lot of sewing. I will take a break and think about it.

Ok, I've decided to do the PA blocks like the quilt. I have cut my strips and I am ready to go, if I wait any longer, it will kill the mood. I must keep going. In the meantime I have studied the Fairy ring some more and figured out the border blocks. When I finish a block I will pin It in so you can see where it's at. In the meantime if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Is anyone going to make this quilt? I am talking about the patterns she has in the book, not the Fairy Ring. If you want to attempt the Fairy Ring or something like it (It won't be exactly the same.) and you have questions, this is the time to ask while it is fresh in my mind. Chances are I will never make this quilt again lol......

Default Pineapple Star Continued

I have started the outside blocks now. The center of the block is now all shades of red. This will warm up the cool colors next to it. If you study the quilt, you will see the contrasts from light to dark from warm to cool, from bright to medium.

The center of the quilt is a medium shade, then comes shade, then bright and cool, then dark and cooler, then medium, then dark and cool and then, warm with bright and cool in the center.

I am now using my Freezer Paper pattern that I made. I have to make seven more P. Then four Tri's and then the outside border.

This quilt will in no way look like the Fairy ring as I have kept to the regular pineapple strip instead of modifying the size of the middle strips, this way it will be different but just as pleasing to me.

Here is the first Pineapple block, pinned on the board.

Wow, I can't believe you figured out how to go about making it without a pattern. That quilt is absolutely fabulous, and I admire you and your ambition to make it. Oooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

The only word that comes to mind is...fascinating. So many little pieces have turned into a beautiful creation. I admire your talent and patience. Thank you for sharing the pictures with us. I probably won't ever do one like this but I love to see what others are working on.
