Teddybear Lady

I found these panels and wanted to make a quilt for my brother. I'm making it up as I go and now it's getting on my "last nerve"! The two thin panels (top and bottom) are not the same length as the four deer panels. I have them just pinned sort of in the middle but they are bugging me. Should I line them up even on one side to match or just leave them in the middle? This is supposed to be a Christmas present but at this rate, I don't know when I'll finish.

I am making a deer quilt also. I center my blocks. They were all the same size, but when I started putting them together, they are not even, so I put it aside for later. By the way your deer fabric looks just like mines.

I would center them too. If you have any more of the leafy fabric you could add it to the ends of whichever blocks seem too short. Or perhaps take the top bit of leaf off and use it where you need it?
Then a narrow dark brown (or black?) border to match the deer block outline? Maybe followed by another leafy border?

I'm doing the same panel with some others for my son's birthday quilt. I'd cut the 'Attic Window' flanges off from the side of the narrow panels and center them. If it still bothers you, make four small blocks for the ends of the narrow panels. Pinwheels or whatever pattern you chose. Log cabins to signify deer camp?

My blocks are not the same size, so that's where I need to start.

I'm with centering them. If your brother likes deer, he will love the quilt no matter what you do. So stop stressing. Done and in his hands is best. He will love it because of the subject and the fact that you were kind enough to do it especially for him. Plus it is really turning out pretty as you have it hung there.
