    Floral Log Cabin

I must be feeling brave to try to post my latest quilt. I saw this pattern on here when Karla posted her floral log cabins in quilts, wall hangings and tablerunners and fell in love. Started collecting floral fabrics as I found them on sale or clearance and assorted white tone on tones. Finally got it finished and quilted last week. She has been such a help and encouragement as I was working on it.

The strangest thing though, when I first got it back, I was disappointed in how it was quilted. I don't know if I was just over-excited about getting it finished or what. It took me a few days to think it through and come to the conclusion that I really do like it. And, I took it with me to my church quilting group to see what they thought too. Their positive reaction helped a bunch.

Anyway, this is it. The quilting pattern is butterflies in variegated thread.

Your colors are striking against that white background. Very pretty.

The quilt is outstanding!! The white makes the colors sparkle! I love LC and love to make them, it's relaxing to me to put the pattern together, especially in a scrappy look. Wow, it's lovely.

I love your florals. They really stand out with your whites. I like the butterflies too, they add more fun. I agree with nunnyJo.

Beautiful quilt! The florals help give a soft touch, and the butterfly quilting is a terrific addition!

First I don't understand why you need to feel brave to post such a pretty quilt. We love all quilts here! And yours is certainly no exception. You did a wonderful job and I can't imagine not liking this quilt.

I am glad the quilting grew on you. I think a butterfly panto is quite fitting given the floral fabric motif you chose and from what I can see it looks quite nice. Would you elaborate why you didn't like it at first and why it took other people saying they liked it to get you to like it? Did you have input on the quilting design or did you give your LA quilter freedom to quilt with any design she chose? As someone taking their first steps in LAing business your reply would be very helpful. Thanks.
