    My husband and the guys told me the only way I could quilt at hunting camp was if it involved something manly. I think the hammer pounding qualifies...don't you?

    That turned out so pretty! I saw Georgia Bonesteel do a demo on her show a few months ago. I think she only used leaves. I have been wanting to try it. You have inspired me all over again to give it a whirl!! :thumbup:

    Yes, I do & what a great way to relieve stress or frustrations out on something creative!!
    I saw this technique done on Simply Quilts & it was so amazing!

    That is beautiful! Do you collect all the flowers and leaves and then arrange them and tape and then pound the heck out of the whole group at once?

    One year in Bible School we did flower pounding. I made muslim totes - about 10" by 14" - and then had the kids slip magazines in the tote so when they pounded the flowers, it wouldn't bleed thru the fabric. I asked for church members to donate flowers and the use of their hammers. Some kids planned a design and some designs looked like weed gardens. But they had a ball! I think I had them lay a couple layers of papertowel over the flowers before pounding, and then had them iron the completed picture. This was a cheap and fun project!
