That's so beautiful. It's amazing how the quilting makes it extra stunning!

Absolutely beautiful. I would love to see a video of you quilting on your DM. How fast do you go? You are very precise but your stitch length is also so even. GORGEOUS.

Absolutely Outstanding! I agree with Nancy. I was stunned to learn you did this on a DSM. How long have you been doing FMQ? I would love to know more about how you got to this point. Does it come naturally to you?

Thank you ladies! To answer your question Jean, FMQ did NOT come naturally to me. I practiced for several months before I could stitch anything that seemed to even remotely resemble what I was trying to do. I was determined to learn, and it was the hardest thing I've learned in my adult life for sure! I've been working at it for about 5 years now. I started out by drawing designs with paper and pencil to develop some muscle memory for FMQ curves and shapes. Then I practiced on sandwiches out of fabrics with large prints on them, trying to follow the outlines and sort of thread paint the finer details. Then I moved on to Leah Day's videos and just kept working at it until I felt like I had some control over my stitching. After that I got books and videos from both Karen McTavish and Sharon Schamber and worked through those one step at at time.

I really believe anyone who really wants to can learn to FMQ and get pretty good at it with enough determination and practice.
