I posted a couple days ago asking for ideas on how to use a few fat quarters. I started looking around the internet and got deeply involved in some modern quilting blogs. I wanted to make an easy quilt that I, as a rather insecure newbie, could knock out in a day.

I started cutting this morning and finished around 9:30 tonight. There was a 5 hour shopping spree with my mom during that time, meals and playing with children. This was such a simple quilt but I love the finished product.

I plan to put a big "S" monogram on it so my best friend doesn't try to steal it (she's a "K"). LOL

Need to trim up the bottom

LOVE these fabrics!

I love your quilt. As a newbie, also, I think I will have to copy your idea. Could really be a very versatile pattern.

It's beautiful. Way to go. I love simply pieced quilts that showcase the fabrics.....of course I also love complex pieced quilts that showcase the piecing........and wholecloth that showcase the quilting..LOL! Just got it bad for quilting.
Great piece of work. You must be proud. Got a quilting plan yet? Looking forward to seeing it.

I'm thinking about SITD for the pieced area and maybe pebbles for the large area. I'd love to have the entire thing done in pebbles but I've never done FMQ and I'm nervous.
