Fluffy batting saved it.
I love to put simple embroidery with 30's retro fabrics. They just seem to go together to me. But for some reason, this one didn't. I like the Carousel horses and I like the pinwheels just not together this time. I debated about ripping it apart or just finishing it and donating it quick. Since J's had a 70% off batting coupon, I decided to try high loft. Or as high as they had. I love it! The puffiness is what it needed. Who knew. So if you have one you don't like, give it a try. It may work for you also.

Jokes on me. I thought I was getting a terrific deal with the 70% off coupon at J's. Ended up being $14.00 for a queen size batting. Just went to Wally World, the exact same batting. $13.00 for a queen size. Oops.
Love the baskets, sewbizgirl. I have 30 baskets embroidered and ready to go, I may have to use your idea. Did you by chance put that one in the Destin, FL show a year or so ago? There was one very similar, but I don't remember the flying geese. Mine are on point also. I have many of the same fabrics. Good job.

I'll be blunt.... I'll send you my address and you may pass both of them on to me!! Wonderful quilts. One of these days maybe I'll think about embroidering a quilt. I'm stuck on an Baltimore Album right now.
