It's from a 2011 quilting calender and called Triangle Plaids. I didn't use only plaids, though. Thanks for your comments and encouragement. Now I plan to do some smaller projects, e.g. table runners, for Christmas gifts. I'm slow - hope I have them done for THIS Christmas!

Beautiful quilt. Your FMQ only gets better with practice and you are off to a wonderful start!

I'd say you did a wonderful job. Don't give up on quilting on a regular machine. The very first quilt I machine quilted was king size and in the center of the quilt I had done feathered wreaths in the plain blocks. No one told me it couldn't be done, or that it would be too difficult, I just did it. There's something to be said about being "dumb" or "uninformed" about certain things.

Love your colors!!

I know exactly what you mean on the quilting. I just attempted FMQing a 50 by 70 lap quilt and it just doesn't flow smoothly enough for me at all.

You have done a wonderful job. I also find it tricky to do a quilt that large on my machine and do simple patterns on that size. The colours are great and well done for persisting. I find every quilt I do teaches me something different, or in some cases reminds me of something I thought I had already learnt! Keep up the good work.
