I just used the fusible batting, and it was very easy to work with. It is much softer than what we use in the wreath pattern. It has to be more flexible because you have two folds to make and stitch together. If you look at the picture you'll see that there is a tiny fold in the center, that is done first. Then you open the sides to stitch those together.Originally Posted by DOTTYMO
I have the pattern and have made one section. I'm not happy with the stiffening I used still looking for a good stabiliser. Yours look fantastic.

I just used the fusible batting that the pattern requires. It's very easy to work with, since there's a couple folds in this pattern...not just one fold like the wreath pattern has.Originally Posted by janice1120
What kind of stabilizer did you order. I want to make one of these. Thanks.

Love your mats. I have the pattern & am anxious to get at it but I have read where the instructions are somewhat difficult to understand. Haven't read them myself but I sure hope they're not hard. Love both styles & all of yours are beautiful. I can only hope to do such a good job.

You will find the link in my post. Fat Quarter Shop has them. Have fun!Originally Posted by llong0233
Love your take on the bloom. To my eye the hexie looks more like a bloom! Well done. Where do we find the pattern?

This pattern is easier to follow than the wreath pattern. Give it a try, and if you have problems, just PM me.Originally Posted by callen
