You said where you got the pattern, but is it paper pieced, appliqued, or pieced. It is beautiful. After reading the thread about friends and family not appreciating "our" work as quilters I hope the family you are giving it to will love it.

Absolutely gorgeous! If I can just complete my first quilt I'll be one happy camper. To some day get to this level is just unimaginable. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

OMG you guys, thank you for the compliments...This thread has resurfaced from a long time ago...

I did finish the quilt!

Gramy, it is a raw edge applique technique. I also added some fabric inking to the fox. After everything was fused together, I quilted with monofilament thread. Beyond simply deciding on the fabrics, the delicate cutting is the most challenging part. There are lots of tiny curves to many of the pieces such as the background trees. The entire quilt is the size of a art poster so some of those pieces are very small.

I'm working on another quilt in this technique, but much larger. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will cross the finish line this winter.

I love anything with foxes as I use to go foxhunting on horseback. This is such a beautiful quilt. I would love to see more of your work.
