    Yes, applique first!! These sat for months until I figured out how to quilt them. That is my hardest part, I never know how to quilt them. I am fairly new to FMQ and my first instinct is to stipple everything because I have stippling down pat. So this is my first branch out to something new.

    That is a gorgeous block! I would love to learn how to do that quilting pattern. Did you practice it a lot before doing the block? Do you have a book?
