Yes, applique first!! These sat for months until I figured out how to quilt them. That is my hardest part, I never know how to quilt them. I am fairly new to FMQ and my first instinct is to stipple everything because I have stippling down pat. So this is my first branch out to something new.

Yeah, lots of practice!!!! You remember my first attempts at FMQ, not so pretty! :lol: I remember PMing you with all kinds of questions about issues I was having!!!!
I LOVE your Dear Jane!!!!I go look at it occasionaly just to drool over it!!!
You might be hearing from me when I get ready to put the blocks together and I get stuck!! :lol:

That is a gorgeous block! I would love to learn how to do that quilting pattern. Did you practice it a lot before doing the block? Do you have a book?
